 Lionsgate has set the stage for Western films to make a comeback and laid a platform on which images of Western North Carolina, will showcase throughout the country and ultimately all over the world.  Regardless of viewers’ opinions of the film itself, Maggie Valley and Ghost Town in the Sky will earn global acclaim during a time  when the local economy can certainly use the boost.  “Ghost Town the Movie” will bring free publicity from the global market drawing attention to Haywood County as a whole similar to the attention drawn to Cold Mountain also located Haywood County.  “Cold Mountain” was a major motion picture depicting the civil war era in the south and starring Nicole Kidman.
